There are several routes to the campground, but we recommend using the driving directions provided, especially if you are towing a trailer. If you enter Goritz Road from County Road 579, be aware that the road is beautiful and scenic. This section is steep, with sharp turns and no guardrails, making it very difficult to enter the campground. We’ve seen some drivers attempt it, and it often doesn’t end well.
Additionally, if you have a large trailer or are towing a car or another trailer, and you cannot back up, please stop 50 to 100 meters before the office area. This will provide you with enough space to turn around if necessary. If you pull too far ahead, you may need to unhook your trailer to turn around.
Travelers and trailers that are comfortable passing under an 11'6" underpass can follow these directions:
1. Exit Route 78 at Exit 11.
2. Take County Road 614 west towards Pattenburg.
3. Travel about 2 miles until you reach a four-way stop.
4. Go straight (still following County Road 614) for about 2.4 miles until you enter a small town.
5. Turn right onto Sweet Hollow Road.
6. In 0.2 miles, turn right onto Goritz Road.
7. After 0.4 miles, you will arrive at the camp entrance. Stay slightly to the right (the road is paved) and proceed up to the office.
